Scotland

It is tempting to cheer for the independence of Scotland strictly out of spite for all the ills the United Kingdom has visited upon the world over the past three centuries. But that's not really fair to the English, who are just as oppressed by the coterie in London as the Scots or for that matter the Welsh.

Why on Earth would anyone want to be ruled by people who allowed Rotherham to happen? Who created a culture of repression in which protecting children from sexual abuse became impossible out of fear of being labeled a "racist"? Who deliberately flooded the country with unassimilable immigrants to spite their own people?

From the very beginnings of human society, people have made an implicit bargain: they would tolerate government - be in in the form of tribal chieftan or faceless bureaucrats - in exchange for its promise of protection for their lives and property from enemies foreign (invaders) and domestic (thieves and murderers). Modern government has not only outright failed to deliver on its end of the bargain, but has actually become the biggest threat to lives and property of its subjects. Examples are a legion, from the depredations of Quisling Cult regimes installed by "color revolutions" from Serbia to Kyrgizstan, to the sex-slavery of Rotherham and the police violence in the United States of America.

So the question isn't so much whether the Scots ought to "throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security" (source), but why so many others have not done so - and what are they waiting for?

I wonder if one of the worst cases of a "Quisling cult" regime was not that of Boris Yeltsin whose pockets were stuffed with American dollars by Al Gore even as he dismantled the Soviet economic system with no replacement at the ready while he betrayed Russia's "little brother" in Europe, Serbia, as it was then set upon and devoured by NATO's Nazis and imperialists and then the EU.

I, too, supported Scottish independence just to spite the UK. Then I learnt just how leftist the Scots are and how leftist Salmond's ideas were (he wanted Scotland to leave so he could 'protect the National Health Service' or something stupid like that), and I decided I was done supporting Scottish independence. Needless to say, I was delighted by the "no" vote. But I totally agree with most of what you say in this post.

It's obvious the vote was rigged if you consider the SNP have absolute majority in parliament and 16 year olds (majority pro independence supporters) were allowed to vote for the first time.

There are also video evidence of votes being rigged by the counters themselves.

I would not be surprised if the opinion polls were rigged too.

There is a lot at stake for the UK and the EU (including the US) if Scotland breaks away! The Powers That Be would not allow for such a thing to happen!

The vote was a close call. Not as close as had been predicted in the last month, but too close for Westminster who should have got more than just 10% for NO as they had a 30% lead in May. What was interesting was the the last minute dire warnings from the London oligarchy and an intervention against YES from the White House and the Clintons did nothing to diminish the Yes vote, that actually increased!

On the day many convinced YES supporters could not bring themselves to do it and the passive no supporters had to be forced out to vote NO which swung it. Had that not happened YES would have won by a slight margin.

On a side note Rotherham was the constituency of disgraced ex-MP Denis Macshane. As you could have guessed - It was all someone elses fault.

@Asteri, knowing them myself, the British, unlike the germanic peoples, are corrupt as hell, even more than eastern Europeans. Opinion polls can be used as tools to manipulate the masses and are probably rigged. When stakes get high, TPTB intervene at all costs; A Scottish referendum would have dissolved the EU and NATO in the long run.

I was traveling for the past two weeks so I didn't really get a chance to comment on this further, but here's a thought or two, for what it's worth.

Those who voted for staying in the UK were mostly older people, fearing uncertainty. I can't say I blame them.

But the fact the referendum happened at all may prompt London to apply the "Canadian" solution: following the 1996 Quebec referendum, Ottawa basically opened the floodgates of immigration, drowning the Francophone separatists in the sea of unassimilable immigrants. The "cure" may yet prove to be worse than the "disease", but in the short run it seems to have worked.

Now, considering this sort of "electing a new people" has already been going on in the UK since Blair, if it escalates now, how soon before England itself revolts against it?
